This 10,000 s.f. building was a senior citizen center prior to the remodeling for the Temple Housing Authority into a day care center.

The original building was built in the 1950’s and added onto in the 1970’s. This remodel called for all of the interior walls of the building to be demolished, save a large, stone fireplace and chimney that was a central focus of the building. The fireplace was retained to create a storytelling area for children. Eight classrooms with central kitchen, staff offices, and a separate office area for the Housing Authority program was included as well as an outdoor play area.
