Perched atop limestone cliffs,
overlooking downtown Dallas, the Belmont Hotel
was built in 1946 as the first luxury motor
court hotel in Dallas. Charles S. Dilbeck designed
the 44,000 s.f. grouping of five buildings on
terraces in a mix of Art Moderne and Spanish
Cottage styles. Through time the area disintegrated
into high crime and economic depression.
This high- risk investment planned to keep
the original architecture and create a 68 room
boutique hotel, including fourteen suites. The
project’s completion has played a pivotal
role in the revitalization of the area. |
