This house was a spec home designed
for a developer to market high energy- efficient infill
housing in a style compatible with the existing 1920’s
Bungalow neighborhood. Energy efficient, Insulating
Concrete Forms (ICF), high efficiency windows and
mechanical systems were utilized while providing more
square feet than the typical house on the block. The
creation of a front porch, massing, roof slope as
well as attention to details such as open rafter tails,
siding, columns with bases and brackets made the house
compatible with the neighborhood surrounding it. The
house responds to a more modern way of life with added
square feet in the half story under the roof, an open
plan, master suite, and custom, built-in millwork.
The detached garage at the rear of the lot also keeps
with the neighborhood’s defining characteristics. |
